Quick & Easy Fudgy Brownies

Okay y’all, I wanted to share this super easy, yet very yummy fudgy brownie recipe that my great-grandma swears by and I’ve always been too nervous to attempt it! If you didn’t know, I’m one of those store box kind of mommas when it comes to brownies. Haha! Call me lazy, but I called it simple. Until now.. Pregnancy cravings got the best of me and neither one of us wanted to run to the grocery store, so figured what a better time to try it?! I always thought making completely homemade brownies would be hard, but turns out it’s not hard at all! It’s actually really easy!

Jordan and I have tweaked the original recipe to simplify it by taking out the baking powder and using another kind of flour. It turns out exactly the same. BUT it is amazing if you add chocolate/caramel syrup swirled in the pan OR chocolate chips. Ahh, so yummy!

• 1/2 cup melted butter
• 1/2 cup Hershey’s unsweetened cocoa powder
• 1 1/4 cup sugar
• 1 large egg (for more cake like —  add 2 large eggs)
• 1 teaspoon vanilla
• 1/2 cup flour
• 1/4 teaspoon salt

1. Preheat oven to 350 degrees F. Grease 8x8 square pan.

2. In a medium bowl combine melted butter, cocoa and sugar. Stir until sugar is fully dissolved.

{before adding the melted butter}

{after adding the melted butter}

3. Add egg(s) then vanilla then stir until well combined.

4. Stir in flour and salt until flour is fully combined. Be careful to NOT overmix. Hand mixing is best. Mixer makes them too thick.

{adding in the flour}

{right before we poured into pan}

5. {optional} add in one cup of nuts, chocolate chips or whatever you desire!

6. Pour mixture in pan, spread and bake for approximately 20-22 minutes or until center is slightly set. Be careful to not overbake, either. ;)

7. Let cool completely, then cut and serve! Should make 9 large pieces OR do like we did and cut into 16 pieces. Perfect size! Now, enjoy your brownies!!

If you end up trying this recipe, please let me know what you think! These are so yummy and will definitely be my go-to recipe for now on!! Super simple! Feel free to pin, share or whatever! Hope you enjoy these as much as we do!
